Hello Fall Fashion

The LBD

The Little Black Dress, ahhh there's nothing better than the LBD for any season. Dress it up or dress it down and casual, it works for just about any occasion and it's the perfect go-to piece to look polished and put together. Classy yet comfortable, this ensemble is great for the sudden chilly weather CT is facing.

Around this time of the year in New England is the beginning season of Autumn weather. The warm weather is slowly fading away and the cool weather is approaching us. So as we wear our last pair of shorts, skirts and short sleeved tops, we feel the last breezes against our bare skin. 'Tis the season to wear and share the last of our exposed arms and legs.

I remember when I was very little, about 5 or 6, I was a lover of all dresses. I'm pretty sure I owned only one pair of pants. Dresses were so easy, cute, and colorful for my 5 year old self. And 11 years later, I still completely agree.

I first threw on my go-to black LBD from Forever 21, which I purchased last year during Christmas season. With a skater skirt, 3/4 length sleeves and a perfect waist-hugger dress, I have no complaints for only $8.80. I then layered over a button down denim shirt, also with quarter length sleeves so the black dress peeks out a pit. This was also purchased last season at Kohl's, very affordable and great quality.

To accentuate my waist a tiny bit more, I added a white rope belt with tan accents. Because of the braided rope texture, this belt adds a little bit of a summer vibe, without overdoing it because this is a transition outfit. I also added on my Kenneth Cole rose gold watch, and new Unisa Pippah Bootie's in cognac which I just got Friday from DSW. Obsessed would be a complete understatement if I had to describe these pair of shoes. They were everything and more of what I was looking for in a pair of booties. Dark brown, small heel, gold buckle, and well, a bootie!

Because of the color and size they absolutely go with everything for the fall time! I tried them on at the store with dark blue jeans, with the bottoms rolled up a bit to show off a wee bit of ankle, and the entire shoe. After that I was completely sold, walking up and down the long boot-lined isle's several times.
DSW is really the place to go for just about any type of shoe for any season, I highly recommend that store. The boot selection this weekend was beyond incredible, from booties to riding boots to combat boots,
there's something to please everyone. And I surely could have bought another one of two pairs of boots I was also eyeing.

And last but not least I paired this outfit with the last of my summer staples, my Forever 21 $3.80 look-a-like Ray Ban sunglasses. Lasted me all throughout the summer and for just about 4 dollars, what a bang for your buck.

So here's my take on a transition to fall LBD! You're surely see more LBD takeovers throughout all the seasons, I'll be fitting it for all occasions.
Hope you enjoyed today's blog!

Countdown to Fall

It's finally that time of the year, Autumn!

September 22 marks the beginning of the fall season but here in New England, Fall made its mark around a week ago with the sudden chilly weather and cool breezes. Time to dig out the annual sweatshirts and jeans that we live in for the next couple months. But for me fall doesn't mean hiding out in your unattractive sweats and paint splattered shirts. Booties, layered tops, scarves and hot apple cider marks the fall time.

From apple picking to haunted hay rides there is an abundance to do around this time of the year. And for us New England'ers, there is absolutely nothing better. There seems to be a fair just about every weekend, and if not, you can most likely catch me at my high school's football game. Farm fresh fruit, vegetables, flowers and pumpkins start to pop up everywhere, which brings the aroma of fresh baked apple pies, pumpkin pies, and all sorts of baked goods once you walk into your local grocery store.

September 22nd is only 8 days away! But who's counting? Fall starts now, and we have to make the most of the time we have! (Well us in New England at least).

So go out and have a bite of fresh, juicy and just picked apple. Or head over to the corn maze with your group of friends and (try) not to get lost! And if all else fails, the Pumpkin Spiced Latte will definitely put you in the fall mood!
